Enterprise-ready, the CL900 offers a blend of performance, integrated features and mobility. The lightweight CL900 helps users work faster and more effectively; it provides the capabilities, applications and ergonomic ease- of-use that mobile workers need to be more productive in today’s decentralized work environments. Product specifications This is a list of the main features of the CL900 Tablet PC. •Intel® Atom™ processor Z670 running Windows® 7 Professional •1 or 2 GB 800MHz DDR2 memory* •30 or 62 GB solid-state drive (SSD) •10.1" touchscreen display (LED BL, 1376x768) with Corning® Gorilla® Glass • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and optional mobile broadband with GPS* (Gobi™) •Multi-touch input by finger and pen •Mono speaker and dual array microphones •Front-facing 1.3 MP web camera and rear-facing 3.0 MP documentation camera •USB, SD slot, 3.5mm audio input/output jack and Micro-HDMI® video port •Dock connector •Built-in lithium-Ion battery (up to 8 hours per battery charge) •Optional Trusted Platform Module* (TPM) for hardware-based security (Infineon) * Optional features are available when you purchase the CL900. Optional configurations This section describes the optional CL900 configurations. Mobile broadband with GPS You can choose to purchase a CL900 Tablet PC with the optional mobile broadband with GPS module. When installed, the module provides: •Worldwide mobile broadband support •Worldwide global positioning (GPS) support Motion Connection Manager is an application that you use to manage your mobile broadband and GPS network connections. For information on setting up mobile broadband, see “Set up mobile broadband with GPS” on page 9. The GPS receiver uses satellites to determine the current location, altitude, heading and horizontal velocity of the CL900. You can use it with your preferred mapping applications to find your current and desired locations. TPM Security The CL900 Tablet PC can be purchased with the optional Trusted Platform Module (TPM), which is an embedded security chip that protects the hard drive and guards against unauthorized access to data. TPM can generate and store passwords, encryption keys and digital certificates. TPM is used by enterprise-level software applications to implement advanced security features such as: •User and device authentication •Full disk data encryption •Restricted network access System administrators typically configure TPM, which entails enabling TPM in the BIOS and configuring the accompanying security software provided by the TPM manufacturer, Infineon. CL900 Motion SlateMate™ If you purchased the CL900 Tablet PC with the productivity module, Motion® CL900 SlateMate,™ the tablet comes with an integrated Magnetic Stripe Reader (MSR) and Barcode Scanner (BCS). This allows the CL900 to become a mobile point-of-sale and data acquisition tool. Overview of the CL900 The following illustrations show the buttons, slots and ports on the CL900 Tablet PC. Top view microphones speaker The speaker and microphones are located on the top edge of the CL900. Speaker Listen to audio warnings, videos, music and other multi- media applications. Microphones Use voice commands, record audio and dictate notes with the two liquid-resistant array microphones without the need for an external microphone. For more information, see “Using speech recognition” on page 43. NOTE:In addition to the built-in speaker and microphones, you can plug external headsets in the audio in/out jack. Bottom view A dock connector on the bottom edge of the tablet enables you to connect with a docking station dock connector . Dock connector Connect CL900 to a CL-Series docking station.
